The Ellie Smart Pill Box is designed to store and manage up to seven different types of pills. Some users who manage more than seven different types of medications and vitamins use more than one Ellie Smart Pill Box.

In order to use multiple Ellie's, you simply need to program each box with a unique login email. The only setback is that the app will only send you notifications for the account that you are signed into at that time. The Ellie pill boxes will both still ring at the correct times.

If you are using one Ellie for yourself plus one for a loved one, use your smart phone to program your device with your email and then use your loved one's smart phone to program their alarms with their email. If your loved one does not have a smart phone or a email address, you can still program their box using your app but make sure to connect to the correct pill box.
How to distinguish two Ellies
When managing more than one Ellie, it is very important to distinguish between the two especially because many pills look the same. We strongly recommend naming your Ellie Pill Box with a unique name. You can do this in the EllieGrid mobile app.
- Make sure you are connected to the Ellie pill box you would like to edit via Bluetooth. See tutorial here.
- Click the Menu icon in the top left of the app
- Long press the Pill Box Name field
- Enter a new name
- Click Update.
After changing the name, the pillbox should reset and disconnect. Use the app to manually scan and connect to your pillbox with its new name. On iOS, the name change may not show up immediately. You will need to connect/disconnect to refresh the cache, or manually reset the pill box.
